Add Firefighting Range with the QTAC 40S

If you read our blog on the QTAC 20S, you already know how beneficial a powerful, nimble, lower-capacity unit can be in your equipment roster. While the 20s is the perfect tool for a number of situations, sometimes you need more. That’s where the QTAC 40S comes in.

Everything you can do with our 20S, you can do with the forty-gallon 40S – only at a larger scale. The 40s can conduct larger mop-up patrols and prescribed burn perimeter control or provide higher-capacity standby response for chainsaw, weeds, and dry grass work. The 40-gallon capacity also gives you the output you need for jobs such as substantial vegetation control and long-term retardant application.

Ride into action with confidence and capacity

If you regularly work with prescribed burns as a forester or professional prescribed burner, the 40S is definitely worth a look. Whatever vehicle you’re managing a burn from, the 40S is compact enough to ride along comfortably while still having enough capacity to be effective. For instance, it’s a great fit for most utility side-by-sides, and it gives you enough water to put in some significant time without a refill.

Another thing 40 gallons can provide is confidence on remote suppression calls where refilling isn’t an option. You can comfortably go into difficult-to-access remote areas for suppression work, knowing you have plenty of water and the power of our medium-pressure Koshen pump, which is also on 85S. You also won’t have to worry about exceeding the weight limit and size restrictions of the vehicles that can give you access to those situations.

Round out your roster with the 40S

Different situations require different tools. While the QTAC 20S may be the perfect tool for some jobs, you get significantly higher GPM and PSI with the 40S, as well as twice the water capacity, making it the perfect choice for others. If 20 gallons just isn’t enough for you to feel confident heading into your most common smaller-apparatus jobs, the 40S strikes the perfect balance between capacity and load requirements.

The 40S moves you closer to the firefighting power of our larger-capacity skids without requiring a higher vehicle load capacity.

In addition to the confidence an extra 20 gallons of water provides, the larger 40S unit can also accommodate a Hannay manual or electric hose reel for faster hose deployment and quicker mobility when it’s time to reel in and move to the next hot spot.
